Certified Ukrainian translations

Scope of qualifications

Article 13 of the Act on the Profession of Sworn Translator covers preparing and certifying translations, checking and certifying translations prepared by others, preparing and certifying copies of foreign-language documents, and interpreting. Vadym Rekel's qualifications cover Ukrainian; his entry on the Minister of Justice's list is numbered TP/27/17.

Document types

• Civil-status records, certificates and administrative decisions.
• Diplomas, supplements, certificates and grade records.
• Contracts, addenda, powers of attorney and registration documents.
• Judgments, orders, records and pleadings.
• Vehicle documents and correspondence presented in the matter.

Certification statement

The translation contains a repertory number and identifies the document from which it was prepared. Article 18 ust. 2 of the Act requires specification of whether the basis was an original, translation or copy. For a translation or copy, whether it was certified and by whom is also stated. We establish the translation's source basis when accepting the assignment.

Given names and surnames

For names written in the Ukrainian alphabet, art. 14 ust. 2 of the Act requires transliteration or transcription based on a travel document or its copy. If none is available, the spelling rules of the country where the translated document was prepared apply. A passport page showing Latin-script spelling may accompany civil-status records, diplomas and powers of attorney for translation.

Quotation and delivery

For quotations, we accept scans, photographs and PDFs covering the document, its reverse, stamps and attachments. Our response specifies the cost, deadline, basis of certification and collection method.
