Translations of contracts and powers of attorney — Ukrainian language
Translations of contracts, addenda, powers of attorney and business documentation for law firms, legal departments and individuals.
Contracts, definitions and annexes
The order covers the specified contract version with amendments, tables and annexes. The translation preserves clause numbering, definitions, cross-references, party identifiers and entity details. For several documents, a shared list of terms and names is agreed.
A draft, signed copy and later amendment are labelled separately. Documents referenced in the contract and earlier translations can serve as terminology reference material.
Powers of attorney and representation documents
Translations cover the full authorisation, principal’s and attorney’s details, signature authentications and attached clauses. Company documentation may contain register extracts, resolutions and other documents showing how an entity is represented.
For surnames written in the Ukrainian alphabet, the rules in art. 14 ust. 2 of the Act apply: the spelling in a travel document or its copy, or, if these are unavailable, the spelling rules of the country where the document was issued. Entity names and registration numbers remain linked to the source documentation.
Preparing and certifying a translation
Article 13 of the Act on the Profession of Sworn Translator covers preparing and certifying translations and checking and certifying translations made by others. The assignment identifies the document, its version and the attachments covered by certification.
Under art. 18 ust. 2, the certification statement gives the professional register number and basis of preparation: original, translation or copy. For a translation or copy, it also states whether it was previously certified and by whom. Professional secrecy under art. 14 ust. 1 pkt 2 covers contract contents, counterparties’ details and correspondence supplied.
Document sets and interim deadlines
For documentation involving several entities or contracts, the order includes a list of files, versions and annexes. We agree translation order, interim deadlines, delivery format and the person responsible for material updates.
